Note: the Word tool is not currently updated to APA 7th edition format!
This is a tool available in Microsoft Word, under References. It allows you to enter relevant referencing information as you go when creating a document.
We strongly recommend you use the Word tool in conjunction with an APA guide. The guide shows you exactly what information needs to be entered. This differs depending on the type of resource you are referencing, e.g. book, journal article, website, online document etc. Note the Word tool is not 100% accurate. Using a guide will assist you in checking your citations and references for errors.
The tool will automatically create in-text citations and a Reference List from the entered data. It also keeps a record of the resources you have used so that you can automatically use them again.
