CINAHL Ultimate(external link)
Full Text definitive research tool for nursing and allied health literature. Access to more than 1,200 journals.

ClinicalKey (external link)
Full-text access to a range of Elsevier's medical and surgical journals, reference books, procedural videos, and images.
If you are not logged into NMIT network, you will be prompted to log in using your NMIT email address and password.

If you are a first time user, you need to register with your first and last name and your NMIT email address.

Cochrane Library(external link) 
A database that specialises in literature review with special focus on systematic reviews

Coronavirus Research Database(external link) 
This database could also be searched under the main ProQuest(external link) database.

Dynamed(external link)
This advanced clinical support tool guides users through current clinical evidence for different medical conditions including mental health. DynaMed topics are continuously updated as new information indicates a need for change in practice or improved understanding of the body of knowledge. IBM Micromedex's drug and laboratory monographs, which includes drug interactions and calculations, are also offered.

Gale Interactive - Human Anatomy(external link)
Users can manipulate and explore 3D models, allowing you to better visualise and understand human anatomy. For accessing this database, Chrome browser is preferred

Provides integrated access to medical, statistical, health, and related information.

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition(external link)
Provides access to some full text titles that are not available on CINAHL (although, generally CINAHL offers great coverage of journals in nursing and allied health).

JBI EBP Database(external link)
JBI’s Evidence-Based Practice database is an online resource for healthcare professionals to rapidly access up to date high-quality, reliable evidence on a wide range of clinical and policy topics at the point of care. It includes systematic reviews from the journal JBI evidence Summaries (formerly known as JBI Database of Systematic Reviews and Implementation Reports). It also provides recommended practices guidelines and best practice information sheets.

Lippincott Advisor(external link)
Provides evidence-based information about diseases, conditions, signs and symptoms, drugs, diagnostic tests, treatments. and nursing care plans.

Lippincott Procedures(external link)
Provides real-time access to step-by-step guides for evidence-based procedures and skills in a variety of specialty settings. It also includes video presentations of procedures.

LP mobile application: You can download the mobile application of LP from either the Google play store or the Apple app store. Ignore the user name and password fields on the institutional login page of the app. Select the Open Athens option at the lower end of the page. In the next pop up box, type in NMIT in the 'find your institution' search box. Then select the result- NMIT.  If logged into your NMIT account, you are taken to the LP app main page. If not, you need to log in. See this guide for detailed instructions [PDF, 293 KB]. Ensure that you regularly update the app to get recent revisions, including New Zealand specific ones. 

New Zealand Formulary(external link)
An independent resource providing healthcare professionals with clinically validated medicines information and guidance on best practice, enabling healthcare professionals to select safe and effective medicines for individual patients.
Updates to the online and eBook/pdf versions of the NZ Formulary are published monthly on the 1st working day of each calendar month. It is vital to use the most recent release of the NZF for making clinical decisions.

Nursing Reference Centre Plus(external link)
Nursing Reference Centre Plus is an evidence-based point-of-care resource to quickly answer nurses’ clinical questions. It includes multimedia resources (e.g. videos and images), nursing management topics, care plans, leadership and management continuing education modules, patient education information, and more. This platform also covers information from reference books.

Merlot is one of the leading educational resources databases that collects learning resources such as evidence-based information regarding nursing procedures and instructional videos related to drug calculation. Its collections could be filtered by discipline, audience, material type, peer-review etc.

Safetyhub(external link)
A database of videos dealing with safety related issues in diverse workplaces. Useful resources for anyone interested in health and safety protocols.

SafetyLit(external link)
SafetyLit is a service of World Health Organisation and San Diego State University. It provides archival as well as update service regarding literature published on Safety, injuries etc. Safetylit’s weekly update compile citations and summaries of about 400 articles every week.

Trip Medical Database(external link)

Digital New Zealand(external link)  
This database aggregates New Zealand-related resources at one place. DigitalNZ includes videos, newspapers, maps, photographs, audio recordings, artworks, news reports, and many other kinds of digital content. Users can access journals related to New Zealand and research theses from academic institutions of this country. Theses and research papers are accessible from the research papers section(external link) and the NZ Research section(external link) of the website.

Research Bank(external link)
This is an open research repository that includes research, mainly theses and dissertations,  produced by students and staff while affiliated with Unitec, Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT), Otago Polytechnic, Toi Ohomai and Southern Institute of Technology (SIT),which are part of Te pūkenga.
